“Hi, I am Heather I have been guiding in Scotland for eight years & love it. I have worked with Jeff at Purple Heather Scottish Tours since he started the company in 2017.
I love Scotland & the fact that I can take clients around being their personnel driver guide, & show off my beautiful country. I also like sacred buildings & of course a little Whisky or two & the endless amount of history.”
“Hi, I am Karen, one of Jeff’s driver-guides. I am an extremely proud born & bred Scot with a long heritage of Scottish roots. I love nothing better than showing my passengers what Scotland has to offer in terms of her breath-taking scenery, amazing history and everything else in between.
I love being an ambassador for Scotland & Purple Heather Scottish Tours & tapping into my knowledge gained with over 20 years as a personal chauffeuse, a mini-coach driver/tour guide. My favourite areas are the North West Highlands & Islands, especially the Outer Hebrides. I hope you find me flexible, friendly & with a great sense of humour. I look forward to meeting you and giving you a wee adventure to remember.”
“I’m Linda, and I have worked at Purple Heather Scottish Tours since 2017, as a Tour Coordinator. I take great pride in delivering an experience that the clients will never forget. I have been very fortunate before doing this job, to have been able to travel extensively around Scotland in various capacities.
We are delighted & excited to be bringing our first travel brochure to everybody, as you will see we have built a tour around Scotland called Awesome Scotland, which uses some great hotels en route.
If you are on a cruise next year around Scotland, check out our day tours, where we can pick you up at the cruise terminal.”
“I’m Amy & while I’m not a Scotland native having grown up just south of the border, moving to Scotland in 2023 was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
I don’t get the honour of touring as a guide Purple Heather Scottish Tours, I’m the one behind the scenes keeping social media & the newsletter ticking over. If you see some content online, that’s probably me! I think everyone should come to see what a beautiful country this is, it’s my job to inspire you to want to book with us!”
Scotland is best known for its breathtaking unspoiled scenery, whisky, golf and its historic castles and cities. We can arrange helicopter tours of our famous landmarks, or you can take in the splendour of Loch Lomond from a private boat. For more inspiration on what you could visit, read through our popular items below, or browse through our standard day tours; we can incorporate any parts of these into your luxury bespoke tour.
On leaving Scotland’s Central Belt you quickly enter wild terrain with mountains rising steeply from the roadside and stunning views as you traverse from one glen to the next.
Scotland produces a wide variety of foods including seafood and game so we are confident that we will find fine-dining restaurants to suit your tastes.
If you are feeling fit we can arrange outdoor activities from gentle hill walks to mountain climbing, or you may wish to take in the scenery from a boat trip along one of Scotland’s many sea lochs.
Whisky (or in Gaelic, Uisge Beatha “the water of life’) is synonymous with Scotland and distilleries are found throughout the country, each area producing distinctly different spirits.
The production of malt whisky is highly skilled and maturation is essential, often in used Bourbon or Sherry casks. Let us take you behind the scenes on a distillery tour during your visit, finishing with a sample of the produce, of course.
As the home of golf, Scotland has many well known famous courses such as St Andrews, Gleneagles and Turnberry. The British Golf Museum is located in St Andrews. Scotland is also home to the oldest form of golf course, the links, which stretch along coastal areas offering fantastic views and challenging holes.
If golf is your passion, let us incorporate a few rounds into your itinerary!
Scotland is awash with history. From well preserved neolithic structures over 5000 years old to living castles bearing the scars of battles between Scots clans (and sometimes the English) over hundreds of years.
We will help you discover the Scottish clans in your family tree, their castles, their territories, and their tartans.
As one of the last wildernesses in Europe, Scotland is home to many forms of wildlife and endlessly breathtaking scenery. Herds of wild deer roam freely in the rugged mountains, glass-like lochs offer pristine reflections of the surrounding terrain and moody sky above, and puffins and other migratory birds congregate on our cliffs and dramatic shores.
We can offer many opportunities to capture the stunning scenery and Scotland’s wildlife in its natural environment from land or sea.
We are always pleased to answer any questions you may have about our private tours of Scotland or other bespoke services. Getting in touch with us is quick and easy!
